MEET TEACHER MELINDA

Teacher Melinda was trained as a civil engineer in Singapore, but later found her passion in education.

With over 34 years of teaching experience across Singapore and Malaysia, she brings not just academic brilliance, but a wealth of industry experience to the classroom, specialising in STEM subjects - such as Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

Her teaching approach focuses on concepts and applications, which have helped transformed tens of thousands of students into Math and Science enthusiasts.

As the Chief Academic Officer (CAO), Teacher Melinda ensures that all teachers at ACE EdVenture maintain high standards and follow the ACE Methodology - so our students always enjoy school and achieve academic excellence, all while developing essential life skills!

THE ACE METHOD

Reverse-engineering the future and applying it in our classrooms!

The ACE Method used at ACE EdVenture has been pushing the boundaries of education since 1995 and impacted the lives of more than 20,000 students (and counting!).

Conceived and developed by the founders of ACE EdVenture, Anne and Melinda, the ACE Method stemmed from a simple observation: 12 years in the conventional education system, yet students were unprepared for university and the workplace.

So, we did something about it.

Reverse-engineering

As educators, we continue to educate ourselves on where the future is heading and tweak our delivery to nurture future-proof skills, such as self-discipline, adaptability, initiative, cognitive flexibility and decision-making.

This way, we know we're always preparing students for their future.

Every surface is a canvas

Who says lessons have to be confined in classrooms?

We like getting creative with our learning: sitting, standing, in the corridors, on the floors, in the labs, out at the water park... Every space is a learning space and every surface is a canvas for learning! This is especially great for visual and kinaesthetic learners!

Progress, not perfection

Whether it's an improvement from a D to C, or A to A*, every win is worth celebrating with our students.

Expecting perfection of them is unrealistic. Instead, we strive for progress. We stand by our students through their journey with us, giving them feedback and the opportunity to upgrade their work.

Making it relevant

As a student, did you ever wonder why you were learning something, only to realise its use later in life?

When we teach, we like to give our students the big-picture view of what they are learning. We acknowledge that students have the innate curiosity to learn - we just have to harness that and make what they're learning relevant.

Throwing out the box

"Think outside the box," we hear that all the time. Well, we've gone ahead and thrown out that box.

We are constantly thinking up new ways to get students excited and engaged about topics. Sell your castles for History! Choreograph Hip Hop for Physics! The engaging coursework we create challenges our students' understanding and instils cross-subject and cross-skilled learning.

Trained to fit our teaching style

All our teachers go through ACE EdVenture's in-house Teacher Training Programme that has Education Alliance Finland's (EAF) seal of approval.

Our training programme not only focuses on subject delivery, but also on building a class culture, so that every teacher is able to embody The ACE Method.
